Aylsham Food Festival 2018

Friday 28 September
A festival ‘taster’ – Rosie with cider. An evening with Rosie Warren and her dad David from Aylsham on the art of cider-making (using a cider press) accompanied by folk musician and cartoonist, Tony Hall on the melodeon with some traditional cider songs. Bring your own apples and sample fresh apple juice, David’s home-made  scrumpy, or buy from the barrel. Starts 6.30pm. Tickets £1 at the door.

Friday 5 October, 8.30am to midday
Aylsham Country Market –  sample a wide range of home-baked, home-grown and home-made products in the town hall. Free entry.

Friday 5 October, 6.30 for 7pm

An Evening with Richard Hughes – Renowned chef and proprietor of The Assembly House and the Richard Hughes Cookery School will talk about his 40 years in the business. The evening starts at 6.30 for 7pm and includes a supper of beef and ale pie or a vegetarian option prepared, cooked and served by students at the High School. There will be a licensed bar.

Saturday 6 October, 8.30am to 1pm

Farmers Market in the Market Place, featuring music from the Banana Ukulele Band – a walkabout, musical act – and regulars One Foot In The Groove as well as festival favourite, chef Derrol Waller, who will give a cookery demonstration. And pop in to the town hall where there are more fun things to do.

Saturday 6 October, 7pm

Wine tasting with choice cheeses at Aylsham Heritage Centre. Book early to avoid disappointment. Tickets £17 per head from the Heritage Centre.

Sunday 7 October, 10.30am to 1pm

The Big Slow Brunch. Members of Slow Food Aylsham will cook up brunch for up to 100 diners in the town hall. Get the ‘Full English’ or go Continental and be entertained by magician and children’s entertainer Robbie James – perfect for all ages. Tickets £7 per person from Barnwells Newsagents in the Market Place.
